Bruja here…..

Your Monday Morning Bru!
Im feeling good today. I’ve been feeling good overall the last days. The weather has been nice and getting nicer. Days have been clear and sunny for us to nap in the sun. The relaxation feels great. The temperature at night is still below freezing but as large animals, we are built for that. We have good insulation and a fire in our bellies to keep us warm.
I was first ( as usual) to the fence this morning when They came with breakfast. We got our usual greeting ( treats and nice human mouth sounds ). I used my mouth sounds to greet Him and tell Him how much I love seeing Him each morning ( and the treats too of course ). I use a low rumbling knicker to say this. He says I have the largest vocabulary of any horse ever. Part of this is that He can understand me. We have a great relationship and understanding each other very well. Breakfast was as usual too.
Yesterday when they came with breakfast, I was lying down in the wood shavings They have for us. I was feeling lazy. The dogs usually come with at feeding time and yesterday, when Roona saw me lying down, she got confused and a bit scared. Lots of barking she did. That didn’t bother me but the others ( horses ) didn’t like it. When I got up, Roona was relieved and was quiet again.
Taiga always brings a ball or frisbee to play with. He sometimes drops it on the ground by my food dish. When this happens, if it’s too close, I give him a look to get away. He understands to not bother us horses too much. If the ball is so close, and he doesn’t feel comfortable getting it, He kicks it or throws it so Taiga can play more. This happens a lot. Taiga is funny and obsessed with balls and frisbees.
I’ve been getting better at pushing pictures into His head lately too. We did riding a couple of times this week. Yesterday, we did riding in the “across”. This is practice for what He says is trail riding. We ride through and around all the trees. There’s still low branches and there’s narrow places. He says walking over and around all the tree roots helps my coordination too. Back when I was with my wild herd, this was just normal stuff.
While we were riding, we heard a voice call to us. We rode up to the fence where we can look at the neighbors house. At the fence was the neighbor man. The man and my He talked with their mouth sounds a bunch. Neighbor man had a little human with him. This one was so little it couldn’t even stand by itself. Neighbor man was holding it. It made me happy to see a pure happy human. The little girl human reached out and touched my face and lips. I was very gentle with her. These little humans are fragile and horses know to be gentle with them. They make us feel good because they are so pure of spirit.
He rode Luna too. Even though Luna was born in captivity, she does great at the “trail” riding. We’ve all spent time in the “across” so we are actually used to all the obstacles and uneven ground. It’s a bit different when we are riding. When He is on our back, we need to be careful for Him and compensate. The balance is different and takes more and different muscles. I watched and saw that Luna did great too. All three of us are getting much better at riding. We’ve just been using the bareback pad for riding. This develops good coordination between horse and rider. He feels SO much more comfortable on me now compared to when we first started doing riding. It gets more fun all the time.
The snow and ice is going away so fast now ( because of the warmer weather ) that I think we will soon be riding on the roads again. The round pen is almost clear of ice and snow. There’s even enough sand showing that we can roll in it. I like that. Rolling helps get our winter coat to shed out.
Two days ago, the humans that lived in the house for a while came to visit too. They all spent most of the time in the house visiting with my humans. They were probably eating. Humans are as obsessed with eating as we are. Before they left, they all came to say hi to us horses. We really like that. They all gave us some treats and I especially liked that their little girl was here too. She is silly and funny and has a pure spirit too. She makes me feel good. I wish they would come visit more. They live in another house kinda far ( but not too far ) away now.
I can see pictures of riding on the beach in His head too. That will be new and different. I think I will like that.
Other pictures I see in His head are of Eva when she was alive. He was deeply in love with her. He is grateful that her spirit is in me. He lets her / us know this every day. He wrote a story that’s kinda about her. He might even post it.
As always, May you be happy!
I hope your spring is happening happy and we will all soon see some green grass. ( I’m SO hungry for green grass!)
🙏❤️🐎🐎🐎🐎🐕🐕🦺🐕😫

Bru…I can’t wait for green grass either. So fun to roll in! He is a good guy and really loves you
I am listening into my horse and kind of hearing him talk to me in the same way bru writes. It’s fun to have these conversations with him. My horses name is Tanner. He has just started to nicker when I arrive at the barn and walk towards the paddock. He has just begun to walk and meet me at the gate so I don’t even need to go and get him. I love this. Last week I had a visitor with a ten month old boy. Tanner loved the boy. He showed off with a long canter in the arena without cutting any corners. Thanks to Bru I am noticing more and closer with Tanner. ♥️🐴
