Your Monday Morning Bru!
Dandelions!
It’s spring time for real now. Last night we did riding and a walk. The best part of those was the dandelions. They are big and fresh and my favorite. I love green grass but dandelions are the best taste. I know they are good for me too. My mom showed me that when I lived wild and free with my herd in the desert. Some of the first green stuff is dandelion. I like the roots too. Dandelions and some other plants have good roots to eat. When we were on our big trip I showed Him about good roots. In the desert in New Mexico when we went on walks there I would find good plants and pull them up to eat whole. Roots and all. Yum! He didn’t know about eating roots. I had to show Him. That’s just one of the things I’ve taught Him. We are good herd and teach each other stuff. There wasn’t dandelion at the New Mexico place, just sage brush and desert plants. Some of them I remembered from being wild and free. I showed Him I knew which ones. I pulled them up and are them. That made Him happy and proud of me for being so smart.
Yesterday we just did a short ride. We only went on the driveway path and then back on the paddock trail. Around the paddock and back to the tack shed. We’ve been on the paddock trail before but this time it was scary for me. We had to stop and look a bunch. I wasn’t sure of what I was seeing but it did concern me. He let me figure it out and we made it all the way safely.
Back at the tack shed, He took off my bareback pad and we walked the trail with Him leading me. It didn’t seem scary if He was in front. I like that. He shows me how to be brave and trust Him. We did several other rides this week too. I really like getting out of the paddock with Him so we can have time together. Just the two of us.
Yesterday we got a new round bale in the Hayhut too. The old bale was almost gone and hard to get bits out of the net around it. We were all pretty hungry. I’m not scared anymore of when they tip over the Hayhut. We are all used to it now. We know it’s a good thing when they tip the Hayhut because that’s when we get a new bale that’s easier to eat off of. Luna and I help with the new bale. When they roll it out of storage to the spot for the Hayhut we help. When they take off the plastic net around the bale we get bites to help out. We love new bales. It’s fun too because some big pieces fall off the bale before they put the big net over it. We get those pieces. It’s kinda like dessert. They also pick up the leftovers from the old bale. Leftovers go into small net bags to be hung up in the trees in the across. We like that. Good stuff to eat when we are across.mkkk
The weather was raining yesterday and last night. Lots of wind too. The wind yesterday was part of why I felt spooky when we were riding. He kept telling me not to worry, the wind won’t hurt us and He will protect me from any scary stuff. He says we will do more riding this week too. I hope so. Luna wants to do riding too. She was having her cycle last week so He did not ride her. He always checks to make sure we are good to do riding. Some times our bodies are sore or have cramps and He doesn’t want to ride us to make us hurt when we are like that on our cycle.
He feeds us raspberry leaves to help with our cycles. It makes us feel better. There’s raspberry plants right by our paddock we get leaves from. In the spring, anything fresh and green tastes good.
Today is going to be a good day to do riding. No wind, it’s warm and not raining. Im ready! Maybe we will get to go across today too. The sand in the round pen is just right for rolling in these days. Soft and dry, it feels SO good. I’m going to put lots of pictures in His head today.
Oh yeah, just in case you were wondering, Luna is healthy, happy and there’s been no sign of the plastic bag that she did or did not eat. No one has seen the bag anywhere. Im just glad she’s ok. Luna’s my best friend and I would be lost and extremely sad if she was sick or died. It scares me just to think about it. She is family. Plastic bags are scary for a reason!
I hope you all are healthy and have lots of dandelions where ever you are.
May you be happy!

I’m glad Luna is OK. I hope you have a great week, filled with many dandelions and roots.
Many dandelions here too! We all love them and I even have an embryo children’s book called ‘The Dandelion Clock ‘ ready to meet the world! Wishing you many more dandelions along the trail!
